Our coaches advised us to take a step back today so that we get the required rest. I also happened to be in one of my bad run days. Experts say that there are days when a person will simply not enjoy running. Today was such a day for me. But I stuck with my intervals (1:30 mins walk and 2 mins run) and completed 9 miles. The first 5 miles was a drag but after that I was fine.
One of the reasons for me not having fun running today was that I recently bought a new Ipod shuffle and I have loaded it with high beat techno songs. I haven't had a chance to use it for my long runs yet and today I misplaced my headphones before the run. So, I was grumpy throughout the run and then I found that I had droped my headphones when I got out of the car!!
Next week I am doing 12-14 miles. I am going to make sure that my headphones are in place to help me keep going.
