We hill train every week at Tumamoc hill. It is after work at 6pm. I go to office early on Mondays to be able to go for this training. Checkout the route at http://www.localhikes.com/Hikes/TumamocHill_8520.asp. I completed it in 1 hour and 10 mins.
I started doing this since last week. I saw a lot of difference between last week and this week. I could jog the entire way down without feeling a thing and this week I didn't give up jogging on the way up every at the steepest portions of the hike.
I didn't mind eating a cheese with crackers after I got home.
It is quite a challenge to get to that place after work. The traffic is bad and my office, this hill and my home are at three different corners separated by roughly 13 miles each way.
I am planning to do it every week since this kind of training makes running on the hills in the final run in San Fransisco possible.
